Game Industry Day!

Heres my 2 cents on the articles...

Gaming in general always has always been a big part of American culture. Even today, there are very few that has never played a game, whether that is a virtual 3D world, or a traditional table top game. I personally have been a big gamer since I was young. I remember learning my ABC’s on the old, old Nintendo. However, gamer from what I seen has changed greatly since. While it seems only the nerdy or the geeky play games, I think it has got to the point of popularity where just about everyone plays games. It’s a great way to have a great time, and to enjoy the company of others playing along side you.

If there’s one thing that probably changed the most in gaming, it’s the artwork and content of video games. The artwork and animation of video games only increase over time, similar to how technology improves and gets faster with moore’s law. The content in games has grown into an extremely wide variety, from the educational to the violent. I don’t see a problem in violent video games; it’s unlikely they will mimic the behavior, unless they are not following the rating on the game. (Please get rid of the little 10 year olds playing an M rated game on Xbox Live!)

What I find surprising about this industry, is the fact it still continues to grow even in an economic crisis. 267.8 million units of video game consoles have been sold in 2007. That’s a lot of money…

Interactive Resume Day 16

Furthering the development of the tent, I created a plane and modified its vertices to created a drooping arc in the cloth. Then I added a smooth modifer for a better look. Then I created rivits for the hooks to latch on. I prep'd some cylinders for the boolean process.

Interactive Resume Day 15

I started to build the sandbag walls. I started with a Chafer box and applies the noise modifer to it. Then stacked it in a brick wall fashion. I also started to build the tent posts that the camo cloth will align.

Interactive Resume Day 14

Today I received a wonderful 3D lesson. (Yay!) I now have a rough idea of the tent/underground bunker setting. Sandbags and tiled floors soon to come!

Interactive Resume Day 13

Its becoming extremely sluggish to modify this scene. Even tho it far from complete, it seems I'm going to have to separate elements and composite them later. I plan on starting on the next scene to get away from this stressful scene of laggyness...

Interactive Resume Day 12

I finished the outline of the platform and begun to align and place the desks. Its getting extremely laggy and editing this scene is becoming slow...

Interactive Resume Day 11

I begun to outline the wedge platforms in the room. I plan on expanding the wedges and using boolean to trim it down to different levels for the desks.

P.S: This is not gonna be a fun process...

Interactive Resume Day 10

I smoothed out the desk base and I begun to replicate the desk to form the room in a arc format. I attempted to use the Array tool, but drawning out the placement using the line tools seem to give the arrangement a natural feel, and easier to move using the copy tool.
